FLEXTEND® provides a gentle, active stretching action of the flexor muscles and active strengthening of the extensor muscles that cross the finger, wrist and elbow joints. This system also actively stretches and strengthens the supinator / pronator and radial / ulnar deviator groups.

When used on a regular basis, FLEXTEND® effectively lengthens the short, restrictive, overdeveloped muscle groups while simultaneously strengthening the opposing underdeveloped muscle groups in order to create more normal strength/length ratios between agonist and antagonists alike. By creating a balance between the muscle and tendon structures in the hand and arm, you can often greatly reduce or eliminate the abnormal pressures within and around the finger, hand, wrist and elbow structures, allowing the body's natural healing processes to function.

University and Private Testing has shown that the FLEXTEND® stretching and strengthening programs can completely alleviate or greatly reduce the symptoms of pain, numbness, loss of strength, in many individuals suffering with recreational or occupationally-induced Repetitive Strain injuries, including Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Trigger Finger, Guyon's Syndrome and many other musculoskeletal disorders of the upper extremity.

People who already have even moderate-to-severe symptoms caused by Repetitive Strain injuries like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Guyon's Syndrome, Cubital Tunnel, Trigger Finger and others, have used FLEXTEND® with great success. Many users have reported that their symptoms have been totally eliminated in as little as 2- weeks.

Those who have used the program for post-operative therapy report being able to return to work with full levels of strength and mobility in about half the time normally associated with surgical release of the transverse carpal ligament. Many individuals that have suffered from hand/wrist fractures have also used FLEXTEND® once they have been removed from a cast to regain strength and mobility in the affected area. It is very important that your doctor authorize this or any other exercise program for post-operative use.

FLEXTEND® does not directly heal the damaged tissues, but instead, allows the body to heal itself by reducing the impingement of soft-tissue structures that were creating abnormal pressure gradients between muscle groups surrounding the finger, wrist and elbow joints, thus allowing normal vascularity to return. In most cases, people who have already exhibited symptoms of a Repetitive Strain Injury, including Carpal Tunnel Syndrome will notice a change in their condition in less than 2-weeks. Within thirty to ninety days, depending on how well the individual's body responds to exercise in general, the symptoms will either be in total remission or will have been reduced to a great enough degree to allow the person to go about their daily activities.
